DESCRIPTION:This 3-day workshop with Bruce Barnbaum includes several outdoor field (shooting) sessions, full critique and discussions of each student's work, showing and full discussion of Bruce's work, and a demonstration of traditional darkroom printing techniques. Indoor discussions will range from commercial aspects of art and photography to personal interpretations. Please note that the first day is a full day of instruction.

 Students bring 10-20 of their photographs and negatives.

DESCRIPTION:Learn from Tony Sweet how software, especially plug-ins, can be used to create the images you see in your imagination. The class will illustrate the use of all nik plug-ins, Alien Skin software, Topaz, LucisPro and Photomatix HDR software.

After a 75-minute presentation, there will be Q&A followed by a field session where we’ll make images with software enhancements in mind. The student can upload 2 images after the class for discussion and critique. Limited to 20 students.

DESCRIPTION:Members of the all-volunteer Raptor Conservancy of Virginia (RCV) will have eight different hawks, owls, and falcons available for photography in a natural outdoor setting.  Four birds will be featured each session by two handlers, with each bird available 20+ minutes per session.  The RCV is dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured, ill, or orphaned birds of prey (raptors), and education of the public about raptors and the preservation of their habitat.  All funds received will go for the upkeep and care of RCV raptor patients and resident birds.

DESCRIPTION:Author of numerous photography books, André Gallant teaches workshops with Freeman Patterson, with whom he has co-written two books. André lectures throughout Canada, the U. S . and internationally. André begins this workshop with a presentation on his book, DREAMSCAPES. Discussions include his favorite montage techniques and how to create them in Photoshop and demonstrate his panning technique. Students shoot in the field and present work for critique.

Day 2 follows a similar format, with more techniques explorations, demos, and field shooting. The workshop is for the novice to the experienced amateur or professional.

DESCRIPTION:Author of numerous photography books, André Gallant teaches workshops with Freeman Patterson, with whom he has co-written two books. André lectures throughout Canada, the U. S . and internationally. Topics to be addressed include: travel photography, people photography, photo-montages, digital photography, self-assignments, lens selection, tripods, macro-photography, field problems and solutions, and André’s creative photography. André’s images are inspiring and his ability to explain his photographic vision and the techniques will be educational and motivational to every photographer. The workshop is for the novice to the experienced amateur or professional.
